Hi al,
Here are the preliminary data obtained yesterday and tonight showing the
GRS/BA/SSTCwos longitudes. Seeing was slightly better tonight, but far from
favourable.
The merged SSTC oval and the (cyclonic) spot that follows it were
visualized. Under the non-optimal seeing conditions I had, the merged oval
looked round, that is an evident elongation was not observed.
At this moment I would also (only) like to call your attention to BA and
the tiny oval that follows it. The area between BA and the oval is
essentially free of bright clouds on both March 30th and 31st images. That
was not the case on the 28th. Damian's image fom March 29 shows very little
clouds. In addition, Damian's image on the 29th seems to show some bright
clouds immediately "f" the tiny oval, an observation that is most notorious
on March 30 and 31 (tonight also in Paulo's image). Notice that yesterday
seeing did not allow me to discriminate the tiny oval itself, only tonight
I was able to do that (also Paulo).
Good observations
Antonio
