8月22日UTには、風本さんから今季最良の木星画像が報告されています。
II=143度で、左端に大赤斑がかろうじて見えています。

さて、CM付近のSEBnには暗斑があり、その後方のSEBには湾入が見られます。
この組み合わせは何となくEZsのGWS(大白斑)を連想させます。昨シーズンは
あまり目立たなかったGWSですが、また活発になってきたのでしょうか。

また、NEBのCMやや左にbargeが見られます(II=125.2)。このbargeの左側の
NEBはまだ幅が太いままですが、bargeから後方のNEBは幅が狭くなっています。
NEBの拡幅も限られた経度になってきたようですね。

なお、風本さんの画像のことは、BAAのDamian Peachから以下のメールとして
世界に回っています。

この中に、風本さんの土星についても触れられています。
CMに近いIII=178度のSEBnに白い領域が見えるとのことです。

Subject: BAA Jupiter/Saturn latest update.
Hi all,

Another image obtained recently, this time by A. Kazemoto of Japan on
Aug 22nd gives a pretty clear view of the NEBn Barge 4 longitudes, and
the barge itself. The barge has closed up slightly on the GRS longitudes
as was expected, and the whole area remians little changed since the
last image of it in early June. The NEBn still remains somewat expanded
p. the barge, and more "normal" f. it. Also note on the SEBN a small dak
area, and also in the EZs a bright area associated with a slight deflection
of the SEBn. This is probably the South Equatorial Disturbance, though
i can't confirm without back tracking it.

He also produced a good Saturn image on the same morning showing and
interesting small white "area" on the SEBn, close to the CM. The spot
is located at around CM3=178 degs. The SPC also appears dark. Please
