Note the very dark and thick segments of the NTB and NNTB; seeing is very
poor, but areas fol. the GRS appear quite turbulent, and some
depression/compression of the fol. end of the GRS may be evident.

Better seeing conditions with considerable detail visible in southern
latitudes; note the converging S. Temp. region ovals south of and fol. the
GRS/ in addition, the STB fol. the GRS is thickening and featuring very dark
segmented portions. The southern perimeter of the GRS is beginning to
demonstrate a very thick and dark border with some details visible within
the GRS itself...shadows of G and C as well as the disk of IO appearing on
the right edge of the planet.

Dear Jupiter observers,
Here is Jupiter image from December 15, still have more data to process in the coming days.
There is some interesting barge and oval activity in NEB with a receding f. side.
Best wishes,

Hi all,
Here are some Jupiter images from early this morning
- around 4 hrs prior to Clay's images.
Oval BA is well seen, and i suspect its rim has darkened
since October, as i was able to see its outline quite
easily visually.
Also, the STrZ spot is now directly due north of BA.
The NTB is also fading at these longitudes.
The third Pichure is a cylindrical map projection of
most of the Planet from Dec 14th-15th.

Best Wishes

Ed Grafton (14 inch f/11 Celestron SCT, ST6 CCD medium resolution mode)
Hi Jupiter Observers
Here is an observation from Houston Texas December 15th 2002 at 09:44 UT.
The two shadows that seem to be slipping off the globe are Callisto and Io.
Io can be seen near the CM in the EZ and shows some phase angle. The NTB,
which Damian Peach pointed out has faded, seems to be composed of three
tenous strands. The sky was partly cloudy with intervals of clear sky
lasting serval minutes. The transparency was excellent between the clouds
and ranged from 0-9/10, and seeing was very good, 8/10 with no wind.
Moderate dew was present. The weather was cool with the temperatures in the
upper 50s F around local midnight.

ST5C CCD and a 14 inch f/11 Celestron SCT
Barlow Projection to f/27 aprox .21 arc seconds per pixel.

10 RED + IR rejection, .3 seconds, SBIG filter
