Jupiter and the Great Red Spot (GRS) from ASO Petit Jean Mountain
Jupiter in fairly steady skies with much fine detail visible in and around the GRS; note the considerable prominence of the GRS in BLUE light and the intensification of the dark southern section of this feature; two very red barges appear on the S. edge of the NEBs; note intensification of STB immediately fol. the GRS and also the interesting widening and northward festooning of the NEB on the fol. (right) meridian of this image.
Based on historical records and the current activity of the region within and around the Great Red Spot, I am speculating that the spot will begin to attain some of its intensity and characteristic reddish color during this 2003-2004 apparition.

Hi all
Here is a Jupiter image from Dec 12th.
Taken as a "test shot" for the new webcam, with Jupiter only 12 degs altitude (before the clouds covered it.)
Some useful details were recorded such as White spot Z.
Best Wishes
