It observed near Syrtis major(295W,+10) from Japan. The
form of Syrtis major isn't changing with 2001. However,
Hellas(300W,-50) isn't showing a still cleared form. major
dust storm in 2001 seems to have gotten not to clear lines.
The western side of Hellas becomes bright in front of January
and this part, too, seems to be the change which major dust
storm caused. Einaga is recording a light belt to Hellespontus
(330W,-45). This is characteristic this year. David Moore is
blue image and is showing a black (brown) point into SPC but
this doesn't exist. However, the phenomenon which is as
bright as that such a point comes out is shown. The position
is as 230w.

Seeing improved a bit this morning as Sunrise approached.
The last image at 1230UT was taken moments before Sunrise. some detail can be seen in them.
This morning in addition to normal TouCam images, I imaged with a Red and Blue filter with IRB.
This literally gave me a Blue and a Red color image.
I then performed a channel split and kept the R and B images and discarded the others.
I then processed the images the same as the color images.
The results look very promising.
I hope this can be used as a viable option in imaging Mars with the TouCam.
While it does triple the amount of images to process, it is very easily handled with K3CCDTools.
Also, with the separate images, it diminishes the chance of artifact duplication.
Hopefully this proves to be a viable option in imaging Mars with the TouCam.
I may have been a bit harsh on the processing with Registax.
You decide.
Thanks

Dear friends
Seeing was not as good as the one sent earlier.
The Syrtis major with haze can be seen at the p. limb.
The GAMMA setting for this image is too high so limb darkening looks too contrasty.
Moreover, transparency during this shot is not good so I used F34.

Dear friends

Seeing and transparency are similar as 2nd June in this morning.
I was able to capture some shots. This one was captured at 21:24UT.
This time I increased the Focal Ratio to F42 (approx).
As the transparency is not pleasing, the image appear a bit noisy
(80% gain) after processed.
Seems high focal ratio is better be used under high transparency.

The AM limb brightening is well shown on the image and the NPC hood is smaller.
The SPC is very bright and some region is saturated.
No visible dust acitivities detected It will cloudy and raining in coming
days until early next week in Hong Kong according to the weather forecast
I can take a rest already.
:-) Hope I can get well prepared to meet the Syrtis Major region.
Cheers
