特にめだつ変化は見られない。シルチス(Syrtis major;295W,+10)の先端
東側に明るいスポットが見られる。ニロケラス(Nilokeras;50W,+30)付近の
暗斑が濃くよく目立つ。(reported by 16 observers)

Specifically, there is not a conspicuous change. A bright spot is
seen by the top of Syrtis major (295W,+10). The dark pattern near
Nirokeras (50W,+30) is conspicuous well.

やっと晴れました。今回からは30ｃｍ河原鏡での観測となります。
シーイングが今ひとつですが、口径が大きくなったので早いシャッターが
切れるようになりました。
しばらく観測できていなかったので、自分の画像がなく比較できないの
ですが、もう黄雲ははっきりしないようです。

昨日１４日（UT)画像も同様でしたが、ヘラスを中心に同心
円状の模様のある画像が出来てしまいます。
またシルチスが影つきになり、２重画像になってしまいます。
決して強烈な処理をしているわけではないのですがどうして
でしょうか。
１４日（UT)は、５時間あまりの観測になり、２分×３６回の大
量撮影になってしまい、ようやく一次の画像処理が終わりま
した。報告できるまでのはもうしばらくかかります。

画像処理するとリムが二重になり、うまくいきません。

この日は１時近くまで雲があり、撤収を考えていたが晴れ間が拡がってきたので撮像した。
視直径も２０″近くになってくると流石に急に大きくなったように感じる。
当初、シーイングもいまいちだったが、そのうちに改善してきた。

今期初の火星画像を送ります。
シーイングは５/１０、透明度も悪く露出を１/２５に落としゲインを上
げたため画質が落ち、その結果シャープさがたりません。
画像は１フレームづつ眼で選別しましたが、自動選別とどの程度の差が
あるかこれから試してみたいと思います。Ｒｅｇｉｓｔａｘ処理後アン
シャープマスクとガウスぼかし処理を掛けています。
また、微妙な濃淡模様が表現できていません。シャープネスの問題もあ
りますが、スタックフレーム数を増やす必要を感じました。
北半球周縁部のピントがやや甘くなっていますが、これはアダプターと
接眼部のガタ（遊び）が原因と考えられます。

Dear all -
Mars was imaged on July 15th at 9: 13 UT - 9:16 UT.
The seeing was a lot better at 8/10. But, still some turbulence at times.
Mare Sirenum dominates the disk with some details in and around the SPC  (which is also enlarged).
Solis Lacus is seen just on the evening terminator. Mars is looking normal at this moment.

Mars this morning under poor seeing, but the Tharsis volcanoes are clearly
seen; these images are one hour apart and it is clear that the sunrise angle
on these peaks clearly plays into their visibilities as the features near
sunset and the angles become more pronounced (the 10:15 UT image).

Dear Friends
Attached is the mars image from this morning (15th July 2003).
The skies weather here has been cloudy most of the time for this month and this morning
I managed to steal a few minutes when a small clearing
occurs thru the clouds which allows me to image for about 30mins.
Seeing was 5-7/10 and transparency 4-7/10 (thin high clouds)
As usual the images are done with the 250mm Takahashi mewlon @ f/67.5 with the Televue
5x powermate + Philips Toucam Pro and the Baader UV-IR blocking filter.
I've experimented with a combination of televue 2x+1.8x barlow for a lower F ratio in the
region of f50 which I will process the AVI and send them out this evening.

Here's 2nd and final image from this morning (15th July 2003). This is done with the televue 2x+1.8x barlow.
I've processed this image with my new "super natural" method.
You may compare with the 1941ut image posted earier on, I think the details for this image is still decent.

Attached was the mars image taken in this morning. Seeing was very bad and very windy while imaging.
This time I used a bit natural processing.

Clear skies will keep on at least Sunday. Hope the seeing can be better.
The atmpospheric disperion do affect the sharpness even RGB aligned.
