中川氏の画像ではヘレスポンタス(Hellespontus;335W,-50)の南部のデプレ
ッシオネス・ヘレスポンティカエ(Depressions Hellestonticae;345W,-65)が
非常に暗くなって見えています。位置的にはもう少し南にあるようにも思え
ますが、地図には出ていません。南極冠の中の西経２０度の光点は非常に明る
く見えています。クレイ・シェロッド(P.Clay Sherrod)氏は南極冠からすぐ東
のリムの近くに目立った白雲をとらえた。特に19：15UTの画像にはっきりと見
える。おそらくこれは夕霧だと思われる。西側にこれだけ明るい霧が出たのは
今シーズン初めての事だ。

In the image of Nakagawa(Japan), Depressions Hellesponticae (345W
-65)  which is in the south of Hellespontus (335W,-50) recorded the
state which is made very dark. It thinks to be in the south already
but a few true positions aren't written down to the map. 20 W bright
spot can be very brightly seen. P.Clay Sherrod recorded the white
cloud which is conspicuous near limb in the east at once from SPC.
Cloud can be clearly seen by the image of 19:15(UT). Probably, this
seems to be an evening mist. It is in this season beginning that light
fog came out in this way on the western side.

今朝も火星面に特記すべき変化は探せませんでした。またまた平穏な火星です。
子午線湾とマーガレット湾の間が妙に明るく感じられたんですが、過去の皆さんの画像と見比べる
とそうでも無い気がしてきた次第で…。どうも普通の見え方だったようです。
雨雲と雷雲が迫っていたため、大急ぎで天文台へ急行！  薄雲の通過する中、何とか数カット撮影
できました。ただ、プリズムの選択を誤ってソフトで修正しきれないほどの大気収差が出ております。
申し訳ありません。

肉眼で見た感じに近いと思います。
極冠の細部がつぶれてしまいました。

I think that this picture resembles the touch seen with the naked eye.
Antarctic details have disappeared.

Another Mars image from Aug. 7, taken under fairly steady skies and fog;
note the high clouds west and north of the SPC; much wispy high blue clouds
are noted on the western (celestial) limb of the planet.  Also note the
fairly dense white-blue cloud immediately W. of the SPC.  A distinct "ring"
within the SPC is now beginning to appear from sublimation.

Our best image of Mars yet this apparition, taken under fairly steady skies

Finally things are looking up a bit in the seeing department....

Taken with the Petit Jean Mountain 16" Meade @ f/35, Toucam Pro and 1,000
images over 35 seconds.  Registax processing, NO color nor
post-processing....what you see is what it was.
Very nice cloud detail visible in this image of Mars taken under very steady
skies with heavy fog in south.  Note the clouds W. of the SPC as well as on
the western limb.  Much fine detail visible in the Syrtis regions but also
within the red plains as well.
