解説(安達)
パオロ・ラザロッティ(Paolo Lazzarotti)は南極冠がアルギレ(Argyre;35W
-50)の方に尖っていると報告しているが、この部分は西経20度にあった光斑
のあった部分である。この部分には高い部分があり、ドライアイスが昇華せず
に残存している部分と思われる。

August 16th, 2003
SPC is reporting Paolo Lazzarotti to the direction of Argyre (35W,-50)
when sharp. This part is the place where there was brighit spot from
before situated on 20 W. There is a high mountain or a crater in this
part and it becomes difficult for dry ice to be sublimated.

the bright blue cloud over Araxes continues and
NOTE the low white/blue clouds hovering just south of the north polar hood
perhaps breakaway clouds from the polar haze.
with seeing conditions deteriorating;
nonetheless much nice low contrast detail visible in the northern hemisphere
as well as throughout the dark southern Maria....

The seeing was quite good at 8/10.
In addition, Mars was also imaged in violet light Wr. #47 with an infrard blocker filter.
At 153 degrees and 166 degrees CM longitude, Olympus Mons is easily seen as a whitish spot
(8 o'clock position) against the surrounded area. Its location is 133 degrees longitude
and +18 latitude which fits perfectly on the disk.
Also, it is moving with the rotation.
Mars was also captured in violet light (plus with an infrared blocker) and some faint
orographic clouds were seen over the three smaller volcanic region near the evening terminator.

Dear all
Here my latest Mars image under good seeing and transparency.
R+IR luminance only due to the hard weather conditions.
Remarkable the triangular shape of the SPC with a large prominence toward Argyre.
