(reported by 14 observers)

August 25th, 2003
It got to understand cloud with low latitude well in the limb of Mars.
In the image of Tan Wei Leong, it finds that the longitude of Mare
Sirenum (160W,-30) of SPC became light. In the blue image of Domenico
Licchelli, light cloud can be seen in the south of Sinus Sabaeus (340W
-5). However, this may be related to the color of the Martian surface.

This is the first of two attachments, as we are having a very slow ISP connection here on the mountain at this time.
This series of three Mars images of August 25 are taken about one hour apart and show the prominent Solis Lacus area, as well as a very nice fully-illuminated Olympus Mons; the peak of this volcanic cone is actually seen in the middle of the three images. Several very thin and high bluish clouds are noted, one very small one on the pr. side of the O. Mons.

Hello
Skies have finally cleared in Perth Western Australia again. We have a forecast of good weather for the next week. I have started to image Mars at the Perth Observatory with the C14 and the Meade 16inch. I have included images from both for comparison. The Meade is not mounted equatorially and suffers slightly from field rotation.

Tan Wei Leong(250mm Dall Kirkham ; Philips ToUcam Pro PCVC740K camera)

Dear mars observers
The skies cleared up at the last minute and I had to use the 10" mewlon.
Attached is the mars image from 25th August 2003. Mars has already reach the
size of 25.1", just 0.1" to go before the max size.
Seeing was unsteady for this image and I could only pick 460 shot out of
1800 manually.

Hi all,
Here are 2Mars images taken on August 25th 2003 (UT) with bad seeing(2~4/10) and fair transparency(2~3/5).

"First clear night from Tokyo in quite a while. The 150mm Maksutov Newtonian needs careful collimation and quite long cool-down time, but it's optical performance is very impressive. Usually results are similar to a 200cm Schmidt Cassegrain, except that the image scale is smaller for the same focal ratio"

Kind regards

Andrew Read
