(reported by 12 observers)

September 10th, 2003
In the image of Takimoto, A conspicuous morning mist is recorded to
Solis lacus(90W,-25). At the arctic region, conspicuous white cloud
is seen. In the image of Ikemura, it well understands the cloud which
covers whole Mars. Specifically, it is possible to be well seen in
the hemisphere the morning. In the image of P.Clay Sherrod, it
understands Moeris (280W,+10) well. This part gets for this season
to be dark and is observed.

Dr. P. Clay Sherrod (410mm SC : ToUcam PRO)

Two images of Mars in fair seeing, showing Syrtis Major and Hellas; note that it appears that the impression of a bright Hellas to the NE quadrant may be incorrect; this image suggests that indeed it is possible that we are seeing an obscuration of the SW areas of this large feature; the lack of contrast and duskiness of this area is very evident. Image has minimal post processing for accuracy.

Frank J Melillo(Celestron 203mm Schmidt Starlight Xpress MX-5)
Dear all-
Mars was imaged Sept. 10th between 3:35 UT and 4:40 UT. The seeing was quite unsteady most of the time. But, there were some decent moments when the images captured.

Mars is looking normal. But, Hellas seems to have some brightening especially the northeast side. Not sure if it is a normal brightness or a possible small dust clouds. The seeing condition was just not good enough to determine its true nature.
I might be planning to image again.
