解説(安達)
 池村氏の画像では、低緯度地方に氷晶雲が良く見える。また、北極にも白い
明るい雲が見られる。DCパ−カ−氏は鮮明な火星画像を得た。純白の火星冠が

December 5th, 2003.
The water ice cloud of looks all right to the low latitude with the
image of Ikemura. NPR can see a white cloud, too. It took pictures of
the wonderful image with D.C.Parker. He takes pictures of the water
ice cloud which grew in the north and south. The state that it can be
seen from west limb is often recorded in this cloud.

While we are bracing for a winter storm coming up in the New York area, it was clear for a while after sunset. I had just enough time to image Mars before the clouds rolled in. In fact, there was some high clouds scattered around but it didn't interfere much for the observation.
Mars is getting increasingly difficult to image and the seeing must be better than average to succeed. Mars was taken on December 5th at 1:07 UT. Luckly, the seeing was average and quite clear during some fine moments. At 143 CM longitude, Mare Sirerum is broad and the rest of the southern hemisphere is dark. Not sure what feature it may be. The SPC is barely showing it at all. At this time, Mars is free of dust.
