I had a beautiful night to image last night, with good seeing which helped produce some high quality images. The big drawback was a problem with the ATiK camera which kept the long exposure mode from operating properly which limited the signal strength in the methane and UV images. These images were taken with the 30cm SCT @ f30 using the ATK-1HS camera in 320x240 mode. There is a single colour image from the ToUcam in the lower right of the image. It was also shot at f30 in 320x240 mode. The luminance, red, blue, and ToUcam images were taken from the best 1000 of 1700 frames, while the IR, methane and UV were the best 50 of approx 50-75 frames. There were a lot of under-exposed and dropped frames which limited the quality of the methane and UV. I think the IR frame is one of my best in 14 years of CCD work. The red and blue frames were used to make a synthetic green and a colour composite was created, labelled R(G)B. The methane, IR and UV were used to make a make colour image, labelled MIU. Questions and comments are welcome as always. [ Brian Colville : Cambray Canada]
