風本氏の画像は優秀で、火星の様子を良く示している。南極冠の存在が読み
取れる。非常に小さいが、明らかに存在が判る。しかし、周囲は黄色くベール
に覆われていることが判る。北極は白く明るく見える。林氏の画像では、ハド
リアカム(Mare Hadriacam;275W,-40)が出ており、ヘラス(Hellas;290W,-50)の
東側にはダストは進行していないことが判る。DCパ−カ−氏からはアマゾニ
ス(Amazonis;155W,+20)付近の観測が送られてきた。メムノニア(Memnonia;145W,
-20)とゼフィリア(Zephyria;190W,-10)に淡いダストのベールあることが判る。

January 4ｔｈ, 2004.
The image of Kazemoto is excellent, and shows the state of the Martian
surface well. SPC was recorded on his mage. Existence is clear though
it is very small. But, the surroundings of SPC are covered with dust.
It is white, and it seems that the north pole is light. Mare
Hardriacum (275W,-40) can be seen with the image of Hayashi. As for
dust, it is understood that it doesn't get into it on the east side
of Hellas from this phenomenon. Observation around Amazonis (155W,+20)
has been sent from D.C.Parker. It is understood that there is faint
dust veil of Memnonia (145W,-20) and Zephyria (190W,-10).

シーイングがもう少し良いのではないかと考えていたが、期待はずれで冬特有の乱れがあり残念。
赤緯が高くなっていることがせめてもの救いだろう。
今日は鏡面を洗ったので、昼間光軸アイピースで合わせただけで、光軸をまだ完全には追い込んでいない。
光軸合わせは面倒ながらもなかなか面白いので嫌いではあり
ません。ただ、本当に完璧に合わせることは困難ですが。

２日間火星のあるところに雲がちょうど覆って、見れませんでした。
晴れ上がったのはいいが、気流は最悪状態ですが、処理すると
見えてくるものですね。
ヘラスは、落ち着いて来たように感じます。シルチスが細い感じが
します。黄雲のせいでしょうか？今期の池村さんの予想図に似ている
様に感じます。

コメント：日没後、急激に温度が下がってシーイングが悪くなる。
早めの時間での撮影が必要です。
After sunset, temperature falls rapidly and seeing becomes bad.
The photography in early time is required.

あまり変化はわかりません。
やはりヘラスの真ん中が黒っぽいです。
南極付近がやや白っぽく見えますが、南極冠は写ってなさそうです。

Images bias,flat and dark corrected.
Seeing excellent, (8-9 Pickering). Transparency = 5-2m with frequent high cirrus bands
and cumulus. Wind steady NNE 6-12 kts. Altitude = 68-67 degrees. No dew.
NP Hood prominent. Cloud streaks in Zephyria and Memnonia. Bright PM limb arc.
Trivium-Cerberus dark near AM limb. Simois broad. Dark streak again noted along
N. border of Cimmerium.
