解説（安達）
  南極地方を取り巻く暗い部分が良く見えるようになってきた。この辺りに拡
がっていたダストベールはだんだん晴れてきているようだ。アウソニ
ア(Ausonia;260W,-40)からエリダニア(Eridania;215W,-45)付近は、明るく見
えている。（reported by 6 observers)

January 10th, 2004.
Dark region (around the south pole) was well seen.  It seems that dust
veil of these surroundings cleared up slowly. It seems to be light
from Ausonia(260W,-40) to Eridania (215W,-45).

この時だけかろうじて晴れましたが、後は曇ってしまいました。

正月休み以降週末まで観測できなかった。
昼は暖かかったが、夕方は前線通過で晴れたものの
気流は悪い。
撮影後、雲に全天覆われる。
黄雲は、沈静化しているようですね。
ゲリラ黄雲もなさそうですね。

コメント：大シルチスの東部、イシデイスからエリシウムにかけて明るい。
It applies to ELYSIUM from the eastern part of SYRTIS MAJOR
and ISIDIS and is bright.

Frank J Melillo(Celestron 203mm Schmidt Starlight Xpress MX-5) 
when it was 10 degrees!
The seeing was surprisingly steady most of the
time even though there was a slight breeze.
Major details are clearly seen with Mare Sirerum to the
left and Mare Cimmerium on the right. The contrast looks
pretty good with perhaps very little dust scattered around.
Mars is now under 8 arc seconds.
