顕著に出ている。シルチス(Syrtis major;
(reported by 2 observers)

 February 14th, 2004.
Ausonia (245W,-45) was light on February 12. Today, Ausonia is light,
too. It may be as much as the color of the desert can be seen as it is.
The south pole is a little light. The state of evening mist is well
understood in the image of Erwin van der Verden. A white band on Syrtis
major (290W,+10) is thought the thing completed when an image was fixed.

The first strong south wind of the year blew
and the interval of clear weather could be seen in the strong wind.
The air current was bad and Mars was dancing on the monitor.

Probably this will be my last Mars observation for this apparition,
currently at dusk Mars is just over the rooftops here in Brisbane. On top
of that the other planets take some time too. Still plenty to see though,
even at 30 degrees altitude.
