(reported by 2 observers)

The appearance where the southwest of Noachis (0W,-45) has lightened
is recorded from the image of Geert Vandenbulcke. This seems a morning
mist. In the image of M Moore, it is understood that the entire southern
hemisphere looks dark. It seems to see Arsia Silva (125W,-5) in the
southwest of Tharsis (100W,+5) barely. (reported by 2 observers)

Finally got rolling on Mars then went on vacation to my cabin!
I enclose a Mars image from June 30. I apologize for the print issues on the first.
The 2nd image from this morning was taken in typical "bouncy" Phoenix seeing. I hand picked a hundred or so images out of 1200 for each. The Blue image shows a slight brighter area over Mare Acidalium, a streak over Chryse and perhaps a small cloud over Argyre? The usual morning limb haze is evident.
The new ATK camera is doing well. I'll start doing some color soon or just use the TouCam for the color ones.
I did manage to image the great comet crash into Temple 9. Of course two large Pine trees hid the event at the impact time and 20 minutes thereafter, however I did image two shots before impact and two after impact with my 16 inch Dob and Stellcam video camera. The Dob was on a equatorial tracking table, but it proved difficult to track with no other means of fine adjustment in alt and az. They are kind of crude images. I will get them out later to those interested. Don't know if they have any scientific value. They do show a definite brightening in the comet after impact.
