Seeing was terrible today. There are low pressure systems close by.
The northeast side of the GRS is getting busy. THe SEB outbreak has become complex. The STrD-2 has darkened as it gets near the GRS.
The NEB has become deep red. There is a color difference between the NTB and the NEB!

Attached are a couple of images taken last night of a low altitude Jupiter
from the UK. Ganymede was in transit across the north polar region. Note the
dark reddy brown of the NEB this year and the dark disturbance of the south
tropical zone near the GRS..

Finally first light with my new DMK...but seeing was poor but this was more a trial run to better know the new cam, captured at 30 fps also tried a lum with 60fps but seeing was getting worse so didn't use it. Nice to know my laptop sustain 60 fps in battery mode although had to use ROI.
best Jan

Quite good conditions this night, for the altitude, enabling even a bit of
structure to be resolved in the GRS,and a 3-dimensional appearance to Ganymede,
in transit. As usual,IR 807nm is the sharpest wavelength.

Experiments with the DMK camera, comparing a longer EFL (faint image) and slower
frame rate (first set),to a shorter EFL (bright image) and faster frame rate
(second set) showed little difference in the results under these conditions.
