Mars Image 2007/02/02(UT)
Robert Heffner
R.Heffner
(reported by 1 observer)
The dark part near Solis Lacus <90W,-25> is clearly recorded
on the image of Robert Heffner. Although the SPC is showing, it
does not clarify, as long as this image is seen. Near Amazonis
(155W,+15)is reflected a little brightly.

Here is an image of Mars and Solis Lacus at 4.21" in apparent
diameter taken @ around 20 degrees altitude in daylight with the IR
pass filter.
I wasn't able to get any color detail for the SPC due to the
conditions. Will give it another try when Syrtis Major rotates into
view in around in about 2 weeks.
