The Methane images show a streak projecting from the SW rim of the GRS which is probably the LRS.

Last night we had some half decent seeing at sub 18 degrees altitude in the UK. Although the edges of the disk were rippling, the clarity of detail was good. Registax managed to pull some good detail out. Please see the result attached.

Modified Toucam + Type II RB filters 500 frames each R (synG) B

This is the first that I have processed from of a sequence taken between 23:20 and 00:21 UT when I was treated to Io and it's shadow beginning transit.
In the attached image both are well onto the disk by 00:01. The GRS is beginning to come into view. Unfortunately at 00:21 I lost Jupiter behind a tree!
Hope this encourages a few more imagers to have a go from the UK.

Seeing was not very good today and transparency was poor.
Note the SEB is very pale. Note the wake feature at the SEBn.
The NEB is really very red. The NEB seems to be fading. WSZ can be seen on the right.

I think it is well covered the LRS transit,I could save another one from below the cloudy cover,it is a bit noisy but shows the amorfe red cloud at the left of the GRS best wishes Jan

Here are just a few images of Jupiter. Seeing was very good for the altitude at first but "as expected" became poor when all the setting was ready :-))

Attached find my latest Jupiter images of July 1,2008.
Here in the Netherlands this year Jupiter does not rise further than 15 degrees above the horizon,
so the seeing is very often very poor.

Seeing was not all that could be desired on this auspicious night, when the little red spot got sucked round the GRS,it would appear, and it was also my birthday, incidentally,
The spot is not clearly visible here, which is a pity. The "ribs" in the STB,however, were visible even during capture. Io is in transit.
