解説（安達）
南極付近は、北極と同じような雲のバンドが南緯５０度付近にあるように見える。
北半球も南半球も、緯度が５０度付近は暗い模様が少ない。これは、気象条件に
大きく影響を受けているように思える。この付近は風が強い地域ではないだろう
か。
アキダリウム（Mare Acidarium；30W,+50)に晴れ渡っている部分が見える。
南北に同じように見え、興味深い。(reported by 4 observers)
In near the South Pole,the band of the same cloud as the North Pole seems
to be near south latitude 50 degrees. The Northern Hemisphere and the
Southern Hemisphere have few patterns that near 50 degrees has dark
latitude. I can regard this as having received influence in the climate
condition greatly. Isn't this neighborhood a windy area? The portion
which is all clear in Mare Acidarium (30W,+50) can be seen. It is
visible like north and south,and interesting. (reported by 4 observers)

この日、月惑星研究会の天文仲間が新年会に訪ねてこられた。たいへん楽しい時間が持てた。帰られる時晴れてきたので火星を見た。比較的良さそうなシーイングだなと話合ったが、いざ撮像を始めると像が大きく揺らいでいて、良いシーイングとは言えなかった。
