(reported by 4 observers)

Mountains clouds, such as Nix Olympica (135W,+25) and Arsia Silva (125W,-4),
show the characteristic figure. It seems that the portion which cleared
up well is made to the NPC circumference part. In this portion, the
pattern looks black. (reported by 4 observers)

With Trevor Little. Mars was high up in the sky and the seeing was rather good-
at 400x Mars looked particularly stunning.

The NPC was much in evidence and the brightest feature on the disk.
The dark polar band immediately bellow it was also very well seen by both observers.
The fol. limb was very bright and had a bluish tint near the NPR- Elysium was coming
onto the disk and the brightness of this region spilled into the fol. limb.
Dark regions suspected in Propontis I and II.

High in the south the Mare Cimmerium was well seen and a dark greyish brown in colour.

Jim Melka (300mm Newton)
South Polar Hood may be weakly visible.
