Anthony Wesley (406mm Newton)

Here is another image from this morning, through a 742nm pass filter (742nm and longer) and not very good seeing. Lots of interesting stuff going on here. The GRS can be seen to have circulating material and be interacting with its local region. Oval BA is almost invisible in this filter (you can see it if you look very carefully) but the white/dark spots to its right in this image are very dramatic (lower right). The NEB and EZ regions are very active.
Europa is the bright moon, and its' shadow.

Seeing is steadily getting better.
Brian in the USA took a superb image one rotation earlier and it was fun to compare.
Thanks to Dave T in England,I am going to double check the light path to sort out the newtons rings.

After a few months away from my scope I’m back and ready to start my 2010 Jupiter season.
Here is my first shot in average seeing take with the Sun already above the horizon.
