Conditions started out pretty bad,but half-way through the night,the
clouds came to a stop,and the seeing improved significantly.

Happy new year everyone !
Here are finally some Mars images after many monthes,despite a 3-hours cloud passage that ruined the culmination of the planet.

It seems that we can see the so-called "Syrtis blue cloud".
I have added a crop of the NPC imaged by the HST at a similar season many years ago (1995 aphelic apparition).
The dark line inside the cap visible at these longitudes is the future dark collar of the NPC summer remnant (albedo ground collar).
Best wishes
PS I have been rebuilding my mailing list after some huge computer problems during hollidays. If ever I have forgotten someone,please tell.

北西の風が強く、ドームの戸が閉じてしまうほどであった。
しかし、seeingは、わりあい安定していた。

Finally my first image from Mars this season,weather wasn't cooperating or busy time schedule the next day.
Hellas seems very bright also some blue clouds above Syrtis Mayor.

Cold wind disturbing capturing;
though convinient seeing.
Clouds over Elysium. Bright southern rim of the NPC.

A brief view of the Red Planet in Mediocre conditions (although there were some good steady moments).
Syrtis Major is prominent on the fol. limb- the bottom part of the region (i.e. the extreme north end) seems much blunter than the last observation),also Moeris Lacus quite dark and prominent. Libya was quite a bright region and the Mare Tyrrhenum showed many fine subtle features as did the Mare Cimmerium region nearby. Eridania fairly bright in the extreme south. Elysium was a bright region,however only it's north following section contained any white colouring.
Boreosyrtis a very dark,prominent feature in the north,extending all the way down to the bright NPC. Fol. limb bright whiteish colour. No intensity estimates taken.
