Paul G. Abel(203mm Newton)
Only a brief view of the red planet tonight as I have a wretched cold! Conditions were very good, ideal for planetary observing with seeing around AII and good image definition at high powers.
Prominent features:
-NPC now quite a small but still a very bright region.
-Lowelll band fragmented and darker on the proc. side.
-Acidalium visible on proc. side of disk,Niliacus Lacus also visible.
-Chryse bright, and bright clouds visible over Tharsis volcanoes and on the north fol. limb?
-Solis Lacus shows many fine details.
-Bright region in extreme south- bright cloud over Mare Australe?
