Although the transparency was rather average, the seeing was quite good at times and by the time I came to make drawing 2,the image definition was reasonably stable. I employed the use of a polarizing filter throughout the observation this seemed to darken the sky and increase the contrast of the various objects inside the equatorial belts.
I had some trouble in seeing the belts south of the SEB and I think the belts were are a little fragmented, although in drawing 2 the STB(?) seemed to have a dark section passing over the CM. The SEB is looking very striking now. It seems to me that there are two components, and the components are connected at fequent intervals by greyish diagonal sections. Some of the brighter regions in between these dark grey sections are quite bright and are of a yellowish colour. There is a lot of complex structure in the SEB.
The NEB was also of interest; two dark barges were clearly present and the northern edge of the NEB was rather 'wavy'. I am reasonably sure that a bright plume, white in colour was present near to the most proc. barge. Also of interest is the apparent appearance of a vague bluish belt between the NEB and the NTB. The belt was rather thin bur definitely enhanced by the orange-red filters. The NTB and NNTB were present but harder to see as they were a golden colour and only slightly darker than the surrounding zones. Darker sections could be seen in the NNTB. Also some darker grey sections present in the NPR (drawing 2).
Filter work (all at x167 with polarizing filter)
0228UT W12 (yellow): This filter helped enhance the fine details within the main equatorial belts. The STB also seemed more definite in this filter- Ganymede reddish in this filter?
0240UT W25A (red): Interesting view, only the NEB and SEB could really be made out,but the details within them were also enhanced by this filter. So too were the bluish features along the NEBs.
0243UT W47 (violet): The whole disk seemed to be of uniform brightness (except at the limb) . Only the EBs are visible in this filter, and even these are hard to see
0247UT W80A (blue). Another nice view, the reddish features on the planet were nicely enhanced.
By 0304UT seeing had dropped off once more,so I decided to close down for the night.
Best wishes,

Its been along time since I was last able to send out an observation, but
at last I have a fully operational equatorial mount again.
So here is my first Jupiter of the apparition. Conditions were not ideal
and seeing was not very good with a light haze in the sky. Dew was
abundant, but it was good to be observing again!
