diffraction rings when collimating, and a nice view in the eyepiece this morning, but the seeing didn't deliver an image with detail at high resolution. Anyway, here it is

Attached are are two Jupiter drawings I made last night. We had some stable conditions and by the time of drawing two,I was able to use a power of x312 on the planet and really observe some fine details. Main remarks from the observation is as follows:
Drawing 1: Oval BA now coming into view- this is my first view of it this apparition and it seems to me that it's colour is harder to detect visually this time round. The STB seemed to be a little curved in appearance, and the SEB again seemed to be quite turbulent, with a dark grey SEBz composed of darker diagonal sections. A number of festoons present in the EZ and two dark barges were observed in the NEB- dark brown in colour. NTB and NNTB harder to see at these longitudes, and the NPR seemed to contain some faint structure.
Drawing 2: Seeing rather good now,and at x312 there is a great deal of colour and structure present on the disk. The region between the STB and SSSTB was interesting- Two white ovals were present in the STZ,and the STB seemed to curve under them. From the proc. white spot, there seemed to be a gray diagonal feature. Further north,it seemed that there may have been a sgort grey extension from the SEBs through the STropZ though the feature was hard to pin down. At this longitude there is a strong orange component to the SEBz and the turbulence continues to manifest itself as diagonal darker sections. Number of festoons and what I took to be a veil present in the EZ. A number of dark barges present in the NEB and there seemed to be a white oval or brighter region in the NTropB band- perhaps the band goes around a bright region in the NTropZ?
NTB and NNTB much easier to see at this longitude- what looks like to irregular lighter regions present in the NPR.

An image from Monday morning. Despite suffering two 5 second power cuts
(annoying!) everything held together to get a couple of runs under the
fairly good conditions.
This image shows, coincidentally, roughly the same face as the one from the
15th, some interesting changes have occurred.
