Having just got back from a long and rather exhausting couple of weeks chasing
the Aurora Borealis,it was good to sit down and take in some planetary views
once again. The seeing last night was a bit jittery but Registax has, once again, come to the rescue.

Christophe Pellier (250mm Cassegrain) |
Average seeing at best last night. The easterly is installed for the whole week so I must expect very poor seeing all long.
[Christophe Pellier Bruz City,France]
Seeing not as good as the 23rd,so a 'softer' image here.

These images show the Tharsis region and the volcanoes peeking through
the clouds. Also, the tiny NPC is showing the rift I believe to be
consistent with Rima Borealis and the overall appearance of the NPC is
similar to the Voyager image of this feature from the 1970's. The seeing
was better earlier,as the first image was taken at 44 degrees altitude.

I have attached some RGB and UV Mars images from 24 March,
Numerous bright clouds seen over Tharsis and Candor. The Ascraeus cloud was very bright, and the peaks of Ascraeus and Olympus Montes were seen flanked by clouds.

Just got back from the BAA Winchester weekend and decided to clear up my back log of observations. Attached is a Mars drawing I made on 24th March. Seeing started off reasonable but deteriorated shortly after. Acidalium and Erythraeum are coming onto the disk. Chryse looked bright. I thought there might have been a brighter region small and oval shaped in Ortygia under Acidalium. However when I examined the planet later it seemed to have gone, although it was hard to be certain in the poor seeing. Sinus Sabeus dark and Margaritrifer Sinus also seemed distinctly dark.

Good seeing though not as good as the night before. Near identical CML with Ascraeus Mons on the limb poking through the Tharsis clouds.
