Jupiter 2013/01/10-12 strip maps & Methane 892nm band report by Kardasis
Hello all, here are two sets of strip maps at methane (892nm) compared with the RGB aspect of the giant.
The first set is at made at CM2 with South up and the 2nd one at CM3 with north up.
It took me some days to prepare. My methane obs are low resolution so the result is not great.
I hope I;ll improove that in the future. CM2:
CM3:
Report on the Methane map Polar cups: Both cups look bright, the south cup is brighter and the north cup more extended than the south cup. SSTB: Some Ovals look bright but images are of low resolution to recognize them all. Dark matter P-F of them. STB: Oval BA is very bright. The little pink-pale spot at about CM2 25° creates a methane-dark S feature. The large feature passing GRS meridian is methane-dark too. STr.Z: Looks brighter in P. side of GRS than F. SEB: It has same difference in brightness as the visual spectrum. Bright plumes on the rifted region F of the GRS. Bright region around 75deg (CM2) on SEBn as a result of SED. EZ: Very active zone. At about 60-75° (CM.2) on the P side of SED there is a dark projection. EB is sectored and dark from about 150°-350° (CM2). EZn-NEBs: A very active area with 6-7 dark projections (dark-blue in RGB) associated with bright areas on the F side. There is a very bright plume at around 135°. NEB: Brown barges are methane-dark. NEBn is bright and WS/A-B and WS/Z are very bright. NTrZ: Is constantly bright in all length. NTB: Is dark. NNTB: Present some light dark sectors. NNTZ: LRS-1 is very bright but there are some more bright spots. LRS-2 at around 355° is associated with a bright area. [Manos Kardasis,Glyfada-Athens;Greece] 《カーダシス マノス:ギリシャ アテネ》
