Jupiter: 27/02/13 by P.Abel
Greetings all,

Attached is a strip drawing of Jupiter (albeit a short one) I made on 27th February.
I had hoped to continue on for longer that this,
but after a promising start both the seeing and transparency dropped off until by 2050UT there was no point in continuing.
Normally a little haze is good for planetary observing but this was quite thick and the image of Jupiter at x250 was rather faint.
Interesting points of note:

-SEBz contained a number of interesting features including a large bright elongated region at around L2: 128, this is almost certainly the same feature that I observed on the 18th February.
-Quite a few festoons in the EZ, EB fragmentary indeed there appeared to be a number of subtle bluish streaks present at times.
-NEB contained a number of interested curved structures, dark spots and a rift which appeared to start at around L2~90 and finish at L2~125
-Northern border of NTB dark and irregular.
-NPR more grey in tone than the SPR?
