Hi all, Here are some recent photos showing the GRS side of Jupiter, to show two interesting spot interactions: 1) The long-lived SEB light spot, which recently approached the GRS. However it has halted just p. the GRS, adopting the form of a long, yellowish oval (probably a cyclonic circulation). 2) The two dark barges on NEBn, which were rapidly converging, partially driven by white spot Z approaching from the f. side. WSZ now has very low contrast in visible light, but was very methane-bright in the most recent methane images (up to Gary Walker's on Sep.10). In fact the two barges were not seen to merge as the smaller one disappeared just before. Then a tiny dark spot was seen on the N edge of the larger one (Sep.19-23), but this was a separate feature, prograding from the edge of WSZ, which is now in contact with the remaining barge. Thanks to all the observers, and to the ALPO-Japan which supplied some of the images. Some of the best images have been reduced in size here, and more detail can be seen on the originals. Clear skies, John
