A very busy few hours imaging comets was topped off with great seeing for Jupiter just before dawn.

Jim Phillips(503mm Newtonian) |
Seeing was not as good as the morning of the 5th
but it was worth going out as the Great Red Spot was visible.
Overall good seeing although clouds kept coming and going. See attached FYI.
Capture time waz 11:06(UT) not 7:06

Paul G. Abel(203mm reflector) |
When the clouds finally cleared, the seeing which was good earlier seems to have become very variable.
Some interesting details were visible, the two main equatorial belts continue to show considerable activity.

Bruce Macdonald(356mm SC) |
Seeing and transparency were fair.
The image on the left is the best one from the avi files done today.
The image on the right is from de-rotating 8 images (23 minutes)
using WinJUPOS. Shows better detail.
Camera used was ZWO ASI120 MC.
Capture software was SharpCap.
All images (best 1850 frames) from about 4000 frames in each AVI were processed
using Registax 6 and Photoshop CS2.

Here is an image from October 6th. Pretty good seeing at times with heavy dew.
The region following the GRS is visible with Io just having emerged from behind the planet.
The final (and probably most interesting) image from Oct 6th just before sunrise.
Oval BA is clearly visible with a nice array of anticyclonic ovals in the vicinity.
I also observed visually at 350x and had an excellent view.
Oval BA stood out clearly in the eyepiece with the orange colour evident.
