Hi all, There was time for one more Jupiter report, before Christmas and Opposition (Jan.5): an overview of the apparition so far, attached as a PDF. We will post the full-size figures on our web site soon. I can send them now if anyone wants them urgently, and also a set of the Fig.4 images with north up if required.
The days around opposition will provide good opportunities for imaging satellites with their shadows in transit, including Callisto on Jan.3/4 (21:04 to 00:55 UT) then Ganymede on Jan.4 (06:12 to 09:31 UT). All best wishes for the holiday season and Jupiter’s opposition. John
