On 25 November the shadow of Ganymede caused a partial eclipse of Callisto.
They fitted just on my chip. Callisto is clearly darker than Ganymede.
Unfortunately I woke too late, so a missed the beginning. Nevertheless it
was worthwhile to rise early. Despite the moderate quality of the seeing
some details are visible on both satellites.
I was able to record the last half of the partial eclipse of Callisto by the
shadow of Ganymede with my C14 telescope at f/22 and made a small animation
of the frames. Callisto has a diameter of only 1.2"; nevertheless some
details are detectable. Does anybody know the name of the brighter spot at
the lower left?
