Transparency was poor this evening but seeing was very good!
I'm leaving tomorrow to attend the NEAIC/NEAF in Suffern,NY where I will be giving Planetary Imaging workshops.
I was unable to capture any methane band image because of poor transparency. The GRS has dark features around it's edge which is prominent in the close up image.
The core is dark red. The "wake" of the GRS is very complex due to the outbreaks. The NEB in this region is starting to become active.
Note the complex rift system on the NEB. [Christopher Go : Cebu Philippines]

please finad attached a drawing of Jupiter I made last night.
Seeing conditions were rather good- indeed we've had a good spell recently of clear nights combined with good seeing.
The skies were a little hazy as is so often the case in times of good planetary observation. Points of interest include: The STB appears to be quite broad at these longitudes STropB visible,a slightly darker marking was present in the STropB close to the STB near the CM. SEB broad with some darker sections. NEB rather active containing numerous irregular lighter sections NTB hard to see,a small darker section present on the prec. side to about the CM. NTZ only seems to be clearly defined on the prec. side of the disk just before the CM. NNTB present byt irregular. [Paul G. Abel:Leicester:United Kingdom]

The GRS is on the meridian in the later image. The seeing and transparency were on the better side of fair.

Best conditions in April for me so far for this Jupiter, unfortunately not that good.
Io's shadow is in transit, additionaly both Io and Europa are visible.
GRS is setting, with the northern projection of its wake just visible, and the perturbations following it now extended almost on half of the globe. The nice reddish bar in NNTZ is visible setting, and a small reddish spot at central meridian North of the busy NEB [Marc Delcroix Tournefeuille,France]
