The objective of the email is not primarily to share the rather sad looking IR image attached,
but to communicate that it appears that I am coming to the end of this current Jupiter apparition from my location.
The planet is rapidly dropping towards both my neighboursf garage roof and a large banana tree during twilight,
and this combined with recent seeing conditions, is making any decent data collection difficult.
Myself and Marina will also be leaving on Friday for a holiday down in the Drakensberg mountains
and we will only return the following Friday(26 Oct) at which stage I donft think Jupiter will be a viable imaging target for me.
However, I will continue to monitor conditions over the next few days(and for that matter, when I return),
and if I do happen to get some decent conditions,
I will definitely see if I can get anything reasonable for Jupiter.
Saturn and Mars are still on the menu early evening, with Neptune later in the evening, so still plenty of work to be done.
Thank you for the interest and the interaction (in all the various forums) during this apparition.
It has been fun, fascinating and exciting monitoring, amongst others, the STrDist and the S4 domain ovals.
It has definitely been a busy year with all three of my primary planets of interest being so well placed from here.
I am looking forward to picking up Jupiter in the morning sky in a few months,
and to see what changes the giant planet is going to spring on us during solar conjunction!
