石橋氏は8月14日と7月9日のほとんど同じ経度の画像を並べて報告された。2枚を比べると面白い。7月9日の画像には新しく
できたDaedariaの暗斑の先端部がくっきりでています。この2枚の画像を比べると、ダストストームの分布が良くわかる。また、
極冠の大きさの変化も非常によくわかる。
Gary Walker氏、柚木氏や永長氏の画像には緑フィルターでの画像がある。最近は緑フィルターの観測が減り、ダストストームの分布が
つかみにくい。できれば、この色の報告がもっと欲しい。この画像ではMeridianiの西側にダストベールが広がり、下の模様を覆い
隠している様子が、非常によく記録されている。ぜひしっかり見比べていただきたい。
Mr. Ishibashi was reported side by side with images of almost the same longitude on August 14 and July 9. It is interesting to compare
two pieces. On the image on July 9th,the tip of the dark spot of the newly made Daedaria is clear. Comparing these two images,
you can see the distribution of dust storms well. Also,the size change of the polar cap is also very well understood.
Mr. Gary Walker,Mr. Yunoki and Mr. Nagase's images show images with green filters. Recently,the observation of the green filter
decreases,and the distribution of the dust storm is difficult to grasp. If possible,I would like more reports on this color. In this image,
a dust veil spreads to the west side of Meridiani,and it seems that the appearance of obscuring the underlying pattern is very
well recorded. I would like you to compare firmly.

中央にSOLIS LACS、左上にTHAUMASIA、その下のAURORAE SINUS、SOLIS LACSの右のDAEDALIAなど、
だいぶ見えるようになってきました。眼視でも、何となく南半球が暗く見えていました。
昨夜とほぼ同じ経度の7月の火星がありましたので、並べてみました。
7月にもSOLIS LACSは見えていますが、その南や左は黄雲に覆われていました。南極冠はだいぶ小さくなったものの、８月は白くなっています。

台風１５号の接近もあってか、シーイングは大変悪い。薄雲の絶え間ない通過もありゲインが常に変動する。
２時間以上粘ってRGBが撮れたのはこのセットのみであった。ゲイン変動の為、処理すると偽模様も出ているが、１４日の火星記録として報告します。

SolisLacusが良く見える。西縁のSyriaPlanumは明るい。Daedeliaの南縁に暗い縁取りがあり連続した明班がIRでわかる。
TharsisMontesから東に薄いダストが流れているように見える。VallesMarinerisが見えにくくなってきている。
OlympusMonsが少し赤みが強くTharsisMontesもかすかだが赤みがある。NPHが明確になってきている。S:3-4/10 T:5-6/10 風が強かった。

We had a clear night here yesterday so I used the University's observatory to make observations of Mars and Saturn. Attached here is my drawing of Mars- the seeing conditions were average but there were some stable moments whereby a lot of fine detail was seen on the disk,this includes:
- The SPC is now much harder to see,even with this large aperture. This is no doubt due to the shrinkage brought about by summer in the southern hemisphere. lowell band also present.
- Electric seemed rather bright tonight- bright clouds/dust present? Ausonia in contrast seemed to be somewhat duller.
- Mare Cimmerium showed some nice structure- the northern edge appeared somewhat 'serrated'
- Mare Tyrrhenum was quite dark in places. Syrtis Major visible on the following limb but not particularly striking.
- To the far north I was able to see Elysium although it was not particularly bright or distinctive- the darker regions of Phlegra and Aetheria were present and gave away the position of Elysium.
By 2250UT the planet was starting too descend into the trees,so this brought a stop to further observations.

the last one taken under very good seeing at only 15° of elevation.
The atmosphere is still clearing and some color nuances are more visible on the ground of the planet,
like some red hue near Elysium.

観測を始めた時間は、シーイングが悪かったが、次第によくなり、後半はそこそこ良い条件で観測できた。Tharsisの3つの成層火山やOlympus Monsが暗い斑点として見ることができた。
Daedariaの新しい斑点がよく目立っているが、気流が悪くなると形まではつかめなくなる。朝霧がほんのりと明るく見える。

I made 4 RGB runs on the 14th of August. This is a reworked image.
Again the dust is clearing but it still fills the canyons of the the Valles Marineris,
although the familiar dark form of it was beginning to come through.
It is possible to see the peaks of the Tharsis shield volcanoes sitting up out of the plain with Olympus Mons right on the terminator.
Again they display a very distinct red colour.
There is substantial cloud around the north pole and the region around it maintained its blue hue at this time.
