中田氏の画像を見ると、Syrtis Majorの先よりも、赤道付近の方が濃い。肉眼観測でもこれと同じに見える。まだ北半球はダストベール
に覆われていることが分かる。ダストストームの広がりをつかむためには重要な画像だ。
Paul Maxson氏とJim Melka氏の観測では
Mare Sirenumの先端部が東に大きく黒く伸びた姿を記録している。Mare Sirenumの中央北側がダストストームの影響を受けて、
砂漠の色になって見えていると言う方が正しいかもしれない。
Looking at Mr. Nakata's image,it is deeper in the vicinity of the equator than in the end of Syrtis Major. Visual observation
also looks like this. I can see that the northern hemisphere is still covered with dust veil. It is an important image
in order to grasp the spread of the dust storm.
Mr. Paul Maxson and Mr Jim Melka observe that the top of Mare Sirenum is darkly extended to the east. Perhaps
it is better to say that the central north side of Mare Sirenum is affected by the dust storm and appears to be
in the color of the desert.

Most of my time this eveening was taken up trying to capture the LRS-1/AWO-2 approach on Jupiter
(unsuccessfully,as it turned out,due to the poor seeing),
but I did manage to squeeze in a few monitoring IR’s for Mars. This was the best.
