Mercury is easily the closest planet to us as the moment,
but seeing it, at magnitude 2.1 in full daylight, is a challenge.
Conditions were poor yesterday, but Venus was conveniently close by,
to synchronise and focus on.
'Pipp' and 'AS!3' were able, amazingly,
to assemble the faint blobs captured within the frames into an image,
although some manual settings in 'Pipp'were needed to define the target.
There are some vague bright patches which may represent actual features.
