Unfortunately my evening GRS transit session was a total wipe-out due to atrocious seeing conditions.
Things were not much better for this mornings session, but I did capture a string of CH4’s to see
if I could pick anything reasonable up.

I am a bit wary about reading too much into the attached image, due to the conditions, but would suggest :

- A large portion of the flake material that has re-appeared(I think that is becoming the general consensus?),is being pushed along the STrZ “band”.
- It looks like there may be an extension off the top of the GRS. Worthwhile keeping an eye on it. Possibly another flake?

Hoping for conditions to improve asap.

My image set from earlier tonight.
It appears that the flake material is being pushed out towards the STrZ band.
Conditions were fairly decent at the start but deteriorated quickly.
I think this CH4,together with others captured during the day confirm that the suspected extension off
the top of the GRS from my poor quality CH4 image of this morning, was an artefact of the poor conditions [Clyde Foster:Centurion,South Africa]

Jupiter is very low at 17 degrees altitude from the UK this year.
Here are my first images managed in a gap of about 1 hour between the trees. Fast rippling seeing.
IR742 and colour images. Europa is the elongated moon in the IR image.

Oval BA is very pale. I am hoping for a look at the active GRS region tonight if conditions allow.

Lucky with the clouds tonight! The next streamer is extending out.
IR was sharpest, and shows the next SEBs ring distorted and approaching the Red Spot Hollow.
There’s a neat ring in IR on the S Tropical Band, formed at the end of the remnants of the previous flake event.

Good seeing at the beginning but with Jupiter at about 20° elevation only ...
GRS is rising, with a red flake preceding it at SE,and the two bands of SEBs and STrB.
Oval BA,not red anymore,is setting, with a small white spot south of it,and EZ is quite yellowish.
There are dozens of small black spots in the north pole area.
Ganymede shows a bit of details.

Poor imaging conditions today. I had to image early to catch the GRS.
Jupiter was less than 40deg when I took these images. Transparency was poor due to clouds and haze.

More flake material is coming out on the SE of the GRS.
This is different from the one imaged by Anthony Wesley last week as the material is not in contact with the GRS.
The other red spot has emerged from the halo and now there are two small red spot moving away from the GRS.
Note that red material is again forming on the west side of the GRS.

Io and it's shadow can be seen on the NEBn. WSZ is also prominent.
Ganymede can be see on the lower left of Jupiter.
