Hi all, here are two images of Jupiter from last night in reasonable
seeing. The IR750 image shows Io and its shadow in transit - note the
difference in appearance between the two due to the processing and
combining of multiple images to make the final composite.

The second image shows Jupiter through a Methane absorption filter (CH4
889/18nm). Oval BA can be seen setting at right as the GRS is rising at
lower left.

Unfortunately the seeing deteriorated quickly after this time and no
useful images were possible later when the GRS was near the centre.

We have been having monsoon weather here for the past week.
Seeing is still poor due to the SW monsoon winds.

The GRS looks elongated. Note the flake bulge on the p side. The chimney above the GRS has shutdown!
The NEB looks very narrow in this region. WSZ can be seen on the NTrZ.
