Seiichi Yoneyama

Image set from yesterday evening. Oval BA is just rising at lower left. LRS is at bottom left.
There is a bright spot in the far NPR,and interesting structure in the Northern temperate region

[Clyde Foster:Centurion,South Africa]

Teruaki Kumamori

Sky conditions were great despite of strong jet stream. The night was clear and
calm which provided good seeing for planetary images

Please find attached a recent drawing of Jupiter made with Pete Lawrence's C14 telescope.
We were hoping to do a Perseid meteor shower but alas the clouds came up at about 1am BST and it started raining not long after!
Still,I did manage to get a drawing of Jupiter and Saturn.

Very little detail in the SSTB and STB,STropB hard to see at this longitude. The GRS was nicely on show tonight,
the SEB seemed to be a little less active, unlike the EZ which contained a number of festoons and continues to show this dark yellow colour.
The NEB is quite thin at this longitude but there was a number of darker sections and lighter regions present within.

Imaged Jupiter August 12th,
the IR and R channels were captured in quite reasonable seeing but the G & B data was captured mostly through cloud which was wafting through.
That said, their is still very nice depth of detail in all data sets including the RGB.
The region around Oval BA is well resolved as is the current intricate structure within the SEB.
I particularly note the three compact blue spots within the STrZ along the Southern edge of the SEB

Relatively nice seeing and transparency compared to the high bar set in the past few months.
The same hemisphere from five days earlier is visible. No scar from that day's impact is visible.
 - The North Equatorial Belt has a new rift approaching the central meridian.
 - The Equatorial Zone is orange and has a few large festoons stretching westward.
 - The GRS wake appears calmer than five days ago.
 - The western end of the STB Spectre is at the central meridian. Although difficult to see, the system stretches far to the east.
