Jupiter RGB and IR from yesterday afternoon, 2 December, 25 days before solar conjunction.
Very likely my last Jupiter capture for the year (and decade, as Paul has noted) and what was a memorable apparition,
as I have cloud and rain forecast for the rest of this week.
Despite the amazement, drama and excitement that we all experienced earlier this year,
I think it is only fitting that my final image appears to show a very healthy GRS.
Europa was in transit, but could not be detected, although its shadow can just be seen impinging at upper left.
I do need to thank everyone for the wonderful interaction throughout the apparition,
and particularly over the intense period of the GRS activity it really was a special experience.
And off course the amazing effort put in by all those in the amateur planetary community in producing a comprehensive record of these events.
Not least of all, I think Shinji Mizumoto will be happy- he can have a rest now from all his hard work!
