I bring here my contribution to this forum with a report performed last 18th april
using the 150mm refractor F6.5 filtered with the MV lumicon (cut-off 420nm and the W11 yellow-green).
Magnification was 250 and 330x with 7/10 images,planet elevation 30.
At that elevation the aberration color due to earth atmosphere started to be perceptible and commencing to be disturbing.
Globally in spite of the present conditions, the observation was a good one.
Brightenings were present on 19H30UT:
- Hellas bassin the more conspiscious feature on the disk,
- Both polar area slightly bright,
- Chryse-xanthe whitish at the terminator,
- Lybia whitish merging the limb,
- globally the limb was brighter than the whole planet disk.
Dark features:
- Mare serpentis-erythraeum at the border of hellas bassin was the darker feature of the disk,
- pandorae fretum and sinus sabaeus was distinct and faint.
- margaritifer sinus appeared at the terminator, nilialcus lacus too, ismenius lacus bordering the north cap.
Difficult to perform more, but under fixed images why not.
Adding that the overall grey tones scale noted during the session was accessible with a certain difficulty,
this means the aperture in use is at the limit allowing usable data for a follow-up.
