Hi all, here are images of Jupiter from this morning in both colour and
methane absorption (CH4). Seeing was quite good when I started at 4am
but then deteriorated fairly quickly. I was lucky to get 3 RGB runs and
the CH4 data. I tried going to Mars afterwards but that was a waste of
time, maybe tomorrow if the seeing gods are kinder.

I woke up early today with a game plan. Take a quick imaging run with Jupiter.
Then take some complete I had a grand slam session today.
I imaged Jupiter,Saturn and Mars. Seeing was perfect when I was imaging Jupiter.

Oval BA is prominent in these images. It has a very light yellow orange color.
The SEB is very pale in this region. The NEB is very active here. There are bright outbreaks on the NEB.
What is interesting are the two large dark regions n the NEBn before the CM.
A lot of details can be seen on the temperate zones.

The GRS is looking interesting. There is what looks like a flake on the f side and there is considerable bleed of red colour into the RSH.
One can see how red it is on the f side compared to the p side to the north.
The southern part of the GRS at the STB boundary shows quite a dark colour and then becomes very white further into the STB in the p direction.

In the STB to the north and on the p side of the Oval BA,there is a subtle series of what look like light purple waves against the white of the STB just south of the SEB.
Immediately on the p side of A8 there is an interesting feature which has a north-south component and then on its p side a series of radiating arms.
The structure inside the Oval BA is quite well resolved and shows a dark centre and brighter ring inside the dark annulus.
It has a touch of red colour at the extremities. In the NEB there is an extremely bright break out and the festoon to its south is enormously dark.

Imaged Jupiter April 14th,initially in quite reasonable seeing which deteriorated rapidly on the arrival of high alt cirrus cloud.
Have excellent depth of detail particularly with the GRS and to it’s following side.

Although the morning was cold and windy, it has been two months since my last image of Jupiter,
so I was going to be happy with whatever image I got.
In order to catch all three bright morning planets before sunrise, I used my ASI224MC to capture all color channels at once.

 - The North Equatorial Belt seems to be widening.
 - The Equatorial Zone is still slightly orange.
