Hi all, here are two images of Jupiter from this morning through IR750
longpass and CH4 bandpass filters. Seeing was surprisingly good for a
short while but it didn't last long enough to get any colour data.
The GRS is prominent in these images, close to the central meridian, and
the shadows of Europa and Ganymede can be seen on the clouds. By a happy
accident the derotation algorithm in Winjupos also corrects the motion
of these shadows (at least for the short time period used here) so they
appear more or less intact on the planet, however WJ doesn't attempt to
correct for the movement of the moons so Europa shows quite blurred.
Oval BA can be seen rising at lower left, slowly approaching the GRS for
a conjunction probably somewhere in the next few weeks time.
The remnant of Clydes Spot to the SE of the GRS now looks like a large,
diffuse region of dark spots, not bright in the CH4 image.
