NTBs jetstream outbreakのパラパラ動画です。
8月18日から9月6日までのoutbreak #1周辺の様子を、木星1自転ごとに展開図を作ってつなぎました。
46自転分あります(抜けている所が4コマあります)。

ひとつ目の動画は、先行白斑のドリフトに合わせてあります(I系に対し-5°/day)。
白斑後方に暗斑群が放出される様子がよくわかります。
もうひとつは、暗斑群のドリフトに合わせてあります(I系に対し-1°/day)。
個々の暗斑の発達や、他との合体の様子がよくわかります。

興味深いことに、最初の暗斑は南北に並んだ暗斑のペアになっています(Rot-15〜25)。
他の暗斑でははっきりしません。
最初は並走していますが、Rot-19からは互いに回り始め、Rot-32から、2番目の暗斑と合体しています。
Rot-17の見た目や、回り合う様子から、どちらの渦も高気圧的(右回り)のようです。


These two animations show the development in the early stage of NTBs jetstream outbreak #1.
Each animation covers 46 Jovian rotations from Aug. 18 to Sep. 6.

The first animation is made with -5 deg./day relative to System 1,
which is the drift rate of leading spot #1.
And the other one is made with -1 deg./day, which is the drift rate of dark markings following the leading spot.

Interestingly, the first dark spot consists of twin vortices aligned with north-south direction (Rot-15 - 25).
These vortices began to round each other from Rot-19,
and these merged with the secongd spot from Rot-32.
From their appearance (Rot-17) and motion, both vortices seem to be anticyclonic.
