Comment by Makoto Adachi

The dust storm that occurred is north of Aurorae Sinus (53W,-10). All observers record a clear dust storm. Marineris (40W-75W, -12)
is dust-like and looks like a band, indicating that this area is covered with thick dust.
Mr. Clyde Foster's image records the entire surface covered by a dust veil, except for the SPC edge. Mr. Milika-Nicholas's image records
dust spreading in a wide band south of Marineris. This kind of dust may be the cause of poor visibility.

A very brief, but rewarding session in brightening sky this morning. Elysium at lower right. I am a bit suspicious of a subtle light feature at lower left, most noticeable in G,but the RGB looks to me like it may have a dust component. It could just be cloud (although not that prominent in B),but worth watching as it appears to be quite large.
The upper right limb, towards Hellas,is noticeably brighter.

I enclose a composite〓image from early this morning local time in Canberra, that has a possible dust plume in the vicinity of Lunae Planum, north of Valles Marineris.
The feature is most prominent in the R and IR685 channels, but seeing was not great for me and the G and B channels were poor, and deteriorated towards the end when I captured the IR image.
I present the R image with an enlargement of the possible plume in the composite, and also attach the R image separately.
The RGB image looks dusty, and there appear to be streaks of dusty clouds in Coprates and Ganges Chasms,if I am not mistaken.

Images from 25th June revealing enormous amounts od dust in the Martian atmosphere in areas
that normally display a large amount of detail,
especially evident in the red channels shown with the rgb images here.
