Comment by Makoto Adachi
Antonio Lasala
Mike Hood

Antonio Lasala's color image clearly shows the shade of the dark pattern. When the topographic map is opened and compared,
the black part corresponds to the high altitude. On the contrary, the whitish yellow area overlaps with the low altitude area.
That is,this image shows that there are no locally dark areas in the dust veil. As described above, even in a color image,
an image in which the hue and shading can be clearly understood is very important.
In the processed color image of Mr. Inoue,a minute light spot is recorded to the west of Oxia palus (8W,+12). The shape is not
circular, but looks like two light spots in a row. When I checked if there were any other recorders,Mr. Tsurumi recorded it.
I was curious and looked it up,but it was recorded in the image of Mr. Inoue on September 7,and it was not special.
This area looks bright when seeing is bad,but the cause is probably this bright part.
Mike Hood's image is very well documented in detail. Mount Mitchell without ice is recorded. It is a figure that is hard to see.
(Although there may be a small amount left.) Hellas looks circular in this image. In addition, the background is also recorded inside.
It shows that the dust veil is getting lighter.

We had some very good seeing last night, and I was able to make two drawings of Mars- the second one at quite a high power of x375.
There were a number of details visible:
- South Polar Cap somewhat difficult at the longitudes- Lowell band now quite vague.
- Once more the desires of Phaethontis,Electris and Eridania were somewhat brighter- there seemed to be morning clouds visible in Eridania.
These had gone by the time of the second drawing.
- Mare Sirenum and Mare Cimmerium showed a lot of complex structure, especially at the higher powers.
- Vague shadings present in/above Amazonis.
- Elysium present on the disk in the second drawing but it did not appear to be overly conspicuous.
- Northern limb bright- bluish in colour. The following limb also quite bright.

Very poor conditions due to an approaching Typhoon, and squeezed in one high-gain capture through the clouds.
Hope conditions improve leading up to opposition.

Here is a report of mars performed with the 76mm refractor under a transparent sky but agitated images.
I didn't wait for a later time because Amazonis was on the best position on the surface.
A bright veil was there that faded with the time being.
This feature is interesting to follow being highly probably of high altitude
(unsuccessfully exhibited with magnifications from 150 to 225x).
A bigger scope should be in game a 150-200mm surely.
