Comment by Makoto Adachi
Ausonia

Daniele Gasparri brilliantly captured the clouds of Tharsis (80W ~ 120W,+ 10). Especially in the blue image, you can
clearly see the appearance of clouds. From the image, clear clouds are recorded toward Pavonis Mons (120W,+ 3). The clouds
of Arsia Silva Mons (W120,-3) are whiter, brighter and more exceptional than the other clouds. Other clouds may be
topographical clouds due to the drop in temperature in the evening. It is probable that this was caused by the increase in water
vapor in the atmosphere.
Mike Hood,Gary Walker's image shows the colors well. Syrtis Major (293W,+ 0 ~ 20) often looks blue as it gets closer
to the terminator, but I was surprised to see that it was recorded bluish in the afternoon. In the image,a streak-like
pattern like a dust path is formed from Hellas to the northern part of Ausonia. Japanese observers often catch the clouds
of Mare Acidarium (20 ~ 45W,+ 40 ~ 55).
Miyahara recorded the clouds hanging in a band in the center of Mare Acidarium. It is interesting that the direction of the clouds
is different from usual and is reversed. In addition,Mr. Miyahara recorded a dent in the terminator, which seems to be a phenomenon
caused by the pattern. In the image of Mr. Inoue,a dark pattern can be seen at that position. The blue image shows protrusions,
which are probably topographical.
Fabio Carvalho's image is beautiful. Seen from the side,it shows that the area around Hellas is still dusty.

I had some decent seeing this morning for Mars, here's a true colour RGB image made by combining 30 minutes of data.
The south polar cap is prominent at bottom and a fair amount of detail is visible across the disk. There are some faint clouds at top.

This is Mars on the night of 7 to 8th of September. Long intervals of good seeing permitted me to capture these Mars images.

Here are some images from the 7th,
when I noted an interesting terminator irregularity in the southern hemisphere, around L=116,B=-20.
It looks like an indentation or a wave, and was present in all the images,in all colours,
but most clear in the first one,the red from 02:38.8. I’ve shown an enlargement of the terminator here.
I’ve never seen this appearance before. Is it a shadow of a wave of dust?
