Tonight I moved a little further from home, and in addition to the usual Mars,at about 100 million km,
I turned the telescope towards the very distant Uranus and 4 of its moons,30 times more distant, almost 3 billion km .
The stable evening even if with a lot of haze gave good results.

外気温2℃での撮影となりました。 この時期としては気流の状態が良かったように思います。

The seeing was poor, around AIII-IV and there was some shimmer on the disk, never the less there were a number of interesting features:
・Brilliance of the SPC: The Southern Polar Cap caught my attention immediately as it seemed to be much more brilliant than previously.
Given the conditions I was expecting it to be rather hard to see and yet it was very prominent.
The brilliance was constant,at times it was normal and at other times it flared up to such an extent that the cap almost had a 'stella' in appearance.
In the drawing on the right,I have tried to represent the SPC at its most brilliant.
This effect may have been caused by poor seeing conditions?
・Mare Cimmerium was the main feature on the disk. To the south Electris and Eridania were seen- perhaps a little brighter than before.
Mare Chronium and Thyle II was also observed.
・The Mare Tyrrhenum and Hesperia were seen on the following limb- Hesperia appeared to be quite a bright region.
・Elysium was also seen, and seemed a little easier tonight.
Trivium Charontis and Cerberus were also seen and may have been just a little more prominent than in previous observations.
Shadings observed to the north near the fol. limb.
